Comprehension Cards

This deck of cards engages remembering key details before, during and after any story.

In addition to the facts of the story these questions activate the higher levels of comprehension as they dig deep to apply, analyze, synthesize and evaluate stories read, listened to or viewed. In this way, nonreaders can build strong comprehension skills even before formally reading.

The comprehension levels are labeled along with the story elements of characters, plot, theme (s) and setting (s). (Bloom’s Taxonomy)
